On the other hand, you will also need a federal tax ID are: if you are a partnership, an independent contractor, and a corporation or an LLC . You can also obtain a federal tax ID as a sole proprietor and use it as a business tax ID in the place of a social security number. However, you will still need other filings, such as permits, a fictitious business name DBA, and tax IDs as described above. Finally, even sole proprietor working from home or just online can set up a LLC or incorporate, in which case, they will not need to register the trade name with a dba because the LLC or Corporation name will be the legal name of the business.

the business right now is only photo booth rentals but we would like to get into candy buffets as well so my question is what other licenses/permits would we need to get if we were selling candy?

I have a photography business. Do I Need a seller's permit for that? can you explain what a DBA Business name registration is? Yes, I am hoping to open a photography business and I am not sure what licenses I need to obtain hello, do i need a business license inTN monroe county and also the city of vonroe for photography business?

Answer: For photography, you need a business license and a dba, llc or corporation. If you sell tangible photos like paper ones, you will need a seller's permit to buy the paper and sell the photos and charge taxes.
