First decide on a business structure Craft Store as a Sole Proprietor, LLC/Corp, or Partnership.


Note that each structure requires a filing. E.g., selecting an LLC, requires at least an LLC certificate, an LLC operating agreement, a business license and a federal tax ID number.

Why Do I Need a Sellers Permit

  Online business operated from home need to obtain a home occupation business permit and a fictitious business name if a DBA fictitious name is used to conduct businesss.     If you sell anything hazardous such as chemicals you will need a special location for the merchandise.   Sometimes the county will ask for an inspection if you manufacture or store anything hazardous.   Merchandise is stored at home business location so it it is an insignificant amount it is ok but a lot of merchandise may need a storage location for a home business permit to be issued: Shelfs Make sure you do not have too many deliveries by truck to your home if this is a home business.  
I am an at home based business. Do at home businesses need tax IDs and or occupational licenses? Do internet businesses operated from home need to obtain permits and tax IDs? . Physical location business. What if my business is not located in the city limits?     There will be no hazardous merchandise in my home stored or made.   Merchandise is stored at home business location: Shelfs There will be no deliveries of merchandise to my home address.  
Home businesses need a business license as well as other tax registrations.Online businesses operated from home need a business permit and all other licensing as any other business.

Most stores sell merchandise so the first thing is to get a sellers permit to buy merchandise wholesale and sell it retail.
Aside from that, you then need to select your business structure: Sole Proprietor, Partnership, LLC or Corporation.
The above step is important business all Store documents will be filed under the type of business organizational structure.
Of course, you can have a brick and mortar, road side, mobile or online store. All of these require the same licensing not because of the type of location but because there are all businesses.
After that, you will need to obtain a business permit.
This is a general business permit that all new businesses must obtain.
More than 31% of the GNP, though, less than $5,000,000.00 is generated through retail sales business.
Though less than 2 million retail businesses, there is about 1.6 ml retail stores not including online retail. Note that in the majority of the cases you do not need to obtain a business permit that is specifically for your type of business.
You only need a general business permit. In addition, all businesses must be identified by a business tax ID called a federal tax ID number or Employer Identification Number (EIN).
If you file as a sole proprietor, you can use your social security number instead of the federal ID.
Then, 99% of all stores require a sellers permit if you sell merchandise wholesale or retail. The sellers permit is also called state ID, wholesale ID, resale ID, or re-seller license.
If you are an employer, you will need a federal employer Number and a State Employer Number.
If you do business as a name other than your full legal name, for example, you do business as "ABC Discount Store," you will need to file a doing business as (DBA) filing.
Finally, you have the option or incorporating or forming an LLC. Setting up as one of these corporate entities allows you not to file a DBA.

what is required for me? So if I just want to sell my homemade product in small amounts at craft fairs in the state of VA what do I need If I bake from home then sell cookies, pies, cakes at craft fairs and farmers' markets, do I need a food vending license?I am a street vendor selling crafts. It is confusing... is a seller's permit license same as a sales permit?; Yes, a seller's permit license is the same as a sales permit. So what is a resale permit? ; A resale permit is called resale because in most cases you buy wholesale and you resell retail that is why it is also called a reseller permit. What is the difference between resell license vs resale permit vs resellers permit? ; Yes a resale license a resell permit and a resellers permit are all the same as a sellers permit.

In most cases, we can obtain it on the same day.  However, the average time is 3-5 business days before we can obtain the issued seller's permit certificate.
Normally, you need a temporary seller's permit to sell in another state.  Purchase the regular seller's permit service and make sure that you note when you check out that you want a temporary seller's permit.

Hello I need to know how long takes for me to receive the re seller permit. Hello..I want to obtain a business license..but I want a food truck .Do i need a vendor license or business license or both?

i have a cleaning business certificate of authority then i apply for a vendor id what is vendor id i have a cleaning business when i first started i think i fill out the wrong vendor application i don't want to sell iwant to cleani was wondering about an alcohol vendor business in Joplin mo.

Hi, will be attending the Mid-West Reggae Festival in August as a retail vendor and am licensed in WA State, what is required to sell merchandise in the state of Ohio?

Thanksfor a food vendor in the streets which forms do I need to fill out I'm looking for information on how a corporation would locate their vendor number. we need to apply for a vendor license so you can sell beef jerky i'll looking to sell at flea markets and things like that Hi I would like to start a food vendor at a local farmers market.

What do i need to proceed Sorry trying to read all the text before :) Okay so far we have applied for our EIN as a partnership since we are doing it with a friend. We will be selling food a vegan cuisine.
