Even though you are a home business you still need all permits and tax ID numberss like any other businesss. Online business operated from home need to obtain a home occupation business permit and a fictitious business name if a DBA fictitious name is used to conduct businesss.   Some businesses located outside the city limits may not need a city business permit but a county one but all other requirements such as a seller's permit if selling merchandise apply. If you sell anything hazardous such as chemicals you will need a special location for the merchandise.   Sometimes the county will ask for an inspection if you manufacture or store anything hazardous.   If you store a small amount of merchandise in your apartment it should be ok. The only thing that I will be using from the store is the products to make my homemade products everything will be homemade to perfection Home deliveries will occur regularly at home based business. Most cities will not allow too many deliveries so you need to either pick up your deliveries from UPS or limit the amount of trucks parking in front of you home: There will only be deliveries going out when a customer call to place an order and there will be a set delivery fee charge at that time

Getting people to work for you within 30 days of starting your business subjects you having to get a Federal EIN and a State EIN (employer identification number). On the other hand, you will also need a federal tax ID are: if you are a partnership, an independent contractor, and a corporation or an LLC . You can also obtain a federal tax ID as a sole proprietor and use it as a business tax ID in the place of a social security number. However, you will still need other filings, such as permits, a fictitious business name DBA, and tax IDs as described above. Finally, even sole proprietor working from home or just online can set up a LLC or incorporate, in which case, they will not need to register the trade name with a dba because the LLC or Corporation name will be the legal name of the business.

What do I do to obtain a sellers permit for a flea market in Columbia Tn. I am not real good with computer on knowing what to do.

Can I apply somewhere in Columbia to obtain my sellers permit?What is the cost,and what if we don't sell the whole season?When we lived in Fl.

we went to a place to get a tax license and it only run us ,Hate to pay a lot and then not sell the whole season.

Would appreciate information you can send to me by email..Also our printer does not work,so what do I do then?? Thank you for your time.
