    The Rhode Island (RI) state sales tax rate is currently 7%. Rhode Island is one of the few states with a single, statewide sales tax. RI is a Streamlined Sales Tax (SST) state. Avalara is a Certified Service Provider (CSP) for SST.

    Rhode Island has a state sales tax of 7%. The rate was raised from 5% to 6% as a temporary measure in the 1970s, but has not since been lowered. Rhode Island raised its sales tax from 6% to 7% in the early 1990s to pay for the bailout of the state's failed credit unions.

    The change was initially proposed as a temporary measure, but was later made permanent.

    Other taxes may also apply, such as the state's 1% restaurant tax.

    Many items are exempt from the state sales tax, e.g., food (excluding single serve items), prescription drugs, clothing and footwear, newspapers, coffins, and original artwork.

    The Ohio sales and use tax applies to the retail sale, lease, and rental of tangible personal property as well as the sale of selected services in Ohio.

    In transactions where sales tax was due but not collected by the vendor or seller, a use tax of equal amount is due from the customer.

    The state sales and use tax rate is 5.75 percent.

    Counties and regional transit authorities may levy additional sales and use taxes.

Hi there, I am wanting to start a mobile pet sitting business in California. How would that work to obtain a business license?

Ok got it. I called the county and they were confused with issuing me the license because they wanted it as my home address, but I won't be pet sitting at my home because I don't want to deal with the kennel/boarding permits.

How do i obtain a business license as a mobile pet sitter if i plan to work in multiple cities and counties? Sure. I am currently the owner of a dog daycare and grooming business.

Yes, you need a kennel boarding business license. Your s corporation also needs a federal tax id number.
