One of the companies I will be getting wholesale items from is asking for a seller's permit number as part of the application. Is the seller's permit starts @ $49 what I check? Good morning. I am a nurse and a lic esthetician. here in Kansas. I'm planning to put up a clinic ( I name it clinic coz I'm doing Botox and fillers as well) My is an MD hired by the county to work in the hospital. My clinic will be beside his clinic so that if I need an MD for my practice he's just there. The owner of the clinic is only me. My question is. Is it legal to put his name as one of the owners when he's employed by the county. What business permit shd I apply, a medical spa or a skin care clinic?

Here's How to Get Your Seller's Permit and Other permits and Registrations You May Need. Seller's Permit, LLC, DBA, Licenses & Tax IDs Requirements:




First decide on a business structure Clinic as a Sole Proprietor, LLC/Corp, or Partnership.


Note that each structure requires a filing. E.g., selecting an LLC, requires at least an LLC certificate, an LLC operating agreement, a business license and a federal tax ID number.

All Clinic Businesses need a , Business tax registration also called an occupation business License

Selling/Leasing or if wanting to buy or sell Clinic merchandise, food, equipment requires a Seller's Permit.

All Clinic Businesses Using a DBA doing business as name need a DBA Fictitious Business Name

Hiring Clinic Workers Requires a Federal EIN and a State Tax Number EIN

Clinic Whether your business is an online, home, store, concession stand or a mobile cart, you will have to first select from these business, tax entities: Namely, from sole owner/proprietor, partnership, LLC or corporation. It does not matter which one you choose when it comes to a General Business License because all entities need that one. (Note that that is not a specific license to your type of business it is a BUSINESS license) as well. Using a company name subjects you to having to file a DBA . For instance, your name is Marylin Boe, and you do business as Best Clinic Items By Marylin, the name must be registered with a DBA Doing Business As certificate because it is not your full legal name (namely, Marylin Boe). Also, note that whatever item that you sell or lease and it is an item that can be touched (i.e., tangible such as equipment, jewelry, merchandise, electronics, prepared food) requires a sales ID ( Sellers Permit ) to either buy or sell the items or products wholesale from companies that sell in bulk and or sell them retail directly to consumers. Getting people to work for you within 30 days of starting your business subjects you having to get a Federal EIN and a State EIN (employer identification number). On the other hand, you will also need a federal tax ID are: if you are a partnership, an independent contractor, and a corporation or an LLC . You can also obtain a federal tax ID as a Clinic sole proprietor and use it as a business tax ID in the place of a social security number. However, you will still need other filings, such as permits, a fictitious business name DBA, and tax IDs as described above. Finally, even sole proprietor working from home or just online can set up a LLC or incorporate, in which case, they will not need to register the Clinic trade name with a dba because the LLC or Corporation name will be the legal name of the business.

So what is a resale permit? ; A resale permit is called resale because in most cases you buy wholesale and you resell retail that is why it is also called a reseller permit. What is the difference between resell license vs resale permit vs resellers permit? ; Yes a resale license a resell permit and a resellers permit are all the same as a sellers permit.

i just have small question. what license type do i need for my upholstery business? I would like to apply for a seller permit but I do not have a social security number I was wondering if I could apply with my tax I.d number that I have..how much is a wholesale license?i'm going to sign new lease for a shop but what type if shop license do i need for the upholstery business ? A1 B1?

Get an ITIN and you can obtain one. The wholesale license is $39.

Hi. I just started a catering business. I incorporated in Delaware and am going through the process of registering in Illinois. I already have a FEIN. I have a few questions, and it's ok if you can't answer them all: 1) Do I need a Seller's or Resellers Permit? We do plan to buy our food wholesale. Also, are there 2 separate permits for both Illinois and Chicago? 2) In addition to the Type I Meat & Poultry License, will I need an Egg Beater License if I'm cooking out of an already licensed commercial kitchen? 3) I see that there is a license titled "Shared Kitchen User" which we'll need, but will I need to obtain a mobile food dispenser license if I plan to deliver orders? Thanks in advance!

You will need a seller's permit and if hiring, you will also need a state ein.

I'm looking to start an online only c, hiring no employees. Would I need a sellers permit or anything of the like?do you need to use a commercial kitchen to sell baked goods from your home? thank you. still in the process of development recipes. haven't done anything else yet

You need a sellers permit , a business license,  a DBA and an EIN.
