Here's How to Get Your Seller's Permit and Other permits and Registrations You May Need. Seller's Permit, LLC, DBA, Licenses & Tax IDs Requirements:




First decide on a business structure Home Staging as a Sole Proprietor, LLC/Corp, or Partnership.


Note that each structure requires a filing. E.g., selecting an LLC, requires at least an LLC certificate, an LLC operating agreement, a business license and a federal tax ID number.

All Home Staging Businesses need a , Business tax registration also called an occupation business License

Selling/Leasing or if wanting to buy or sell Home Staging merchandise, food, equipment requires a Seller's Permit.

All Home Staging Businesses Using a DBA doing business as name need a DBA Fictitious Business Name

Hiring Home Staging Workers Requires a Federal EIN and a State Tax Number EIN

Home Staging Legal Structure Whether an online, home, store, concession stand or a mobile cart, you will need to first select among among sole owner/proprietor, partnership, LLC or corporation, all of which also require a General Business License (not a specific license to your type of business) as well. If your trade name is a business name other than your full personal legal name, you will need to file a Home Staging DBA . For instance, your name is John Doe, and you do business as Best Home Staging By John, the name must be registered with aDBA Biz Name because it is not your full legal name. Also, note that whatever item that you sell or lease and it is an item that can be touched (i.e., tangible such as equipment, toys, merchandise, electronics, prepared food) requires a state sales tax ID ( Sellers Permit ) to either buy or sell the items or products wholesale and or sell them retail. If you are hiring workers anytime soon, you will need aFederal EIN and a State EIN (employer identification number).

Other instances that you will need a federal tax ID are: if you are a partnership, an Home Staging independent contractor, and a corporation or anLLC . You can also obtain a federal tax ID as a sole proprietor and use it as a business tax ID in the place of a social security number.

However, you will still need other registrations, such as licenses, an assumed business name DBA, and tax IDs as described above. Finally, even one person, Home Staging sole owner/proprietors working from home or just online can form a LLC or incorporate, in which case, they will not need to file a DBA.

So is a seller's permit a tax permit?; In essense, yes, it is a tax permit. So what is a resellers license?; A seller's permit or resellers permit license is a resell permit of merchandise and it is used as a sales tax permit because you collect sales tax and you pay the state.

Getting people to work for you within 30 days of starting your business subjects you having to get a Federal EIN and a State EIN (employer identification number). On the other hand, you will also need a federal tax ID are: if you are a partnership, an independent contractor, and a corporation or an LLC . You can also obtain a federal tax ID as a sole proprietor and use it as a business tax ID in the place of a social security number. However, you will still need other filings, such as permits, a fictitious business name DBA, and tax IDs as described above. Finally, even sole proprietor working from home or just online can set up a LLC or incorporate, in which case, they will not need to register the trade name with a dba because the LLC or Corporation name will be the legal name of the business.

Do I put my social in the tax ID boxI am trying to figure out what the laws are on starting a home bakery in the state of washington I would like to use my home as a bakery what do I need to do to make this happen ?I am wanting to open a pet bakery, mainly out of my home. do we need a business licenses and a bakery licenses? If you are applying for wholesale purchases from a wholesaler, you will need to enter your resale ID which is your seller's permit number.

First, you will need a GENERAL BUSINESS tax registration called a business license.  
Second, you will need a SALES tax registration called a seller's permit or sales tax state ID number so you can buy the things you need wholesale and sell things online and at flea markets. 
Third, your assumed business name DBA doing business as "X-zotic Super art Flea Market Crafts 4 U," is a fictitious business name and a fictitious business name must be registered with a DBA business name registration. The reason for that is to protect the public from fly by night companies that use a business name and then close over night.

About 10 yrs ago I had small business but o went out off business I would like to know if I can use the same id # for a new business if is yes how I can get a copy of the id number Thanks Amanda

Most likely after 10 years, the government retires that tax id and most likely you will need to apply for a new tax id.
