I am a crafter. I create centerpieces made from various materials. I will not be buying wholesale products  I will sell and be a vendor at craft shows in Arizona only.

Q: Do I have to be a formal business in order to make handmade crafts and sell them online or from a store?

A: Yes, a sellers permit is required to buy your craft materials wholesale and sell retail if you sell handmade crafts merchandise wholesale or retail. Users of a trade name will need a fictitious business name filing. For example, if you name your handmade craft business "TLM TRENDY CRAFTS," you will need to officially register that business name. If you don't file a dba business name, you need to at least form an LLC or incorporate in order to register your trade name. 



     Yes, you need to become a business to sell handmade crafts.

     Thus, you first, select your business structure: Sole Proprietor, Partnership, LLC or Corporation.

     Then, a sellers permit is required to buy your craft materials wholesale and sell retail  if you sell handmade crafts merchandise wholesale or retail.

     If you are an employer, i.e., if you hire anyone to help you with handmade craft making, you will need a federal employer Number and a State Employer Number.

     Users of a trade name will need a fictitious business name filing.  For example, if you name your handmade craft business "Crafty but Arty," you will need to officially register that business name.

      Finally, you have the option or incorporating or forming an LLC for your handmade craft business.

The total number of smoker in the U.S. 40 million. even though the total number of e-cigarette smokers is 2.4 million.  

On the other hand, the percent of U.S. adults who have tried Vapor E-Juice  is 2.8 %.  As far as Cigarette Sales is Projected to be $1 billion.  

So the Cigarette Market Share for some companies is about 30 % Vapor (Krave)14 % Metro 7 % Smoker Friendly 4 % Blu 3 % Other 40 %.

You will need a federal ID, a seller's permit, business license and a selection of sole proprietor, LLC or corporation.
