Do I Need a Business License Before Getting a Sellers Permit

Do I Need a Business License Before Getting a Sellers Permit?

In most states, you don't need another license to obtain a seller's permit.

When you check out after you submit your business info, the shopping cart will not let you purchase it if you need another license.  You have the option to say that you have a business license and then you go thru to obtain a seller's permit.

However, in some states, e.g., Utah, where you also need to register your business name OR form a corporate entity such as an LLC, before issuing a seller's permit.
